This statement is intended to be as simple as possible. The GBTC website is built in-house using a full featured website creation program called Net Objects Fusion. NOF allows us to construct an outline of the information we want to present and automatically creates all of the drop-down menus and clickable buttons; thereby, tying the whole site together. The buttons and menus are operated by 'javascript' as is common for many similar websites.
We have attempted to present a logical website where visitors can navigate to the travel information they need by following the outline which underlies our basic ‘button operated’ website design. We are very interested in how well our design works for the average visitor - because we can make changes very quickly. We do use invisible tracking cookies to follow the route the last 100 visitors take through the GBTC website - the data collected rolls over rather quickly. Other information available to us includes the resolution settings of your browser, the operating system you use and whether or not you have javascript enabled. The data is most valuable to us as a design tool - but is not processed or used in any other way.
Any e-mail sent to us is archived as much of it becomes the basis for ongoing travel arrangements. In the process of archiving our e-mail exchanges - of course your e-mail address is saved in our computers. We use Mozilla Thunderbird as our e-mail client. The Mozilla product is not so much the object of hacking, worms or malicious virus as the Outlook product. We feel very secure with the e-mail address we collect. These addresses are never sold or traded to any other company. You can rest assured that security is very important to us.
In the near future we will be offering a newsletter subscription link on our website. The GBTC newsletter service is automated. You can subscribe to our newsletter through our website link and you can unsubscribe from the list by clicking a link at the bottom of any GBTC newsletter. Our newsletter feature will be operated in accordance with the standing recommendations as supplied by the FTC and other authorities charged with anti-spamming regulations.
