Puerto Rico is a 3 1/2 hour flight from Atlanta on a nonstop. All major airports elsewhere in the country have adequate flights into Puerto Rico. The average daily temperature is 73-85 degrees. U.S. Citizens holding proper documentation are NOT required to have a passport for entry into San Juan. Recent ‘sales and discounts’ have boosted tourism substantially.
Puerto Rico is a land rich in history and natural beauty. Old Town San Juan and the historic city of Ponce are popular sightseeing attractions. Puerto Ricans were granted US citizenship in 1917 and voted in 1998 to retain their ‘commonwealth’ status. Tourists will find interesting shopping of all types, restaurants, nightlife, casinos, golfing, scenic views of acre upon acre of sugar plantations and the El Yunque rain forest.
There are many resorts in San Juan and other more distant areas of the island. Each property will offer something different; downtown life, on the beach, with a spa, with a casino, very active or intimately secluded. If it's an all inclusive resort that you seek -- sorry, there are none. Some hotels and resorts do offer pre-paid meal plans for one or two of your daily meals. Perhaps there is an area of Puerto Rico you would like to visit at least once in your lifetime.
